When it came to dreaming big, if you asked Ashleigh about it she'd tell you "Never give up and never let people tell you that you can't make your dreams come true." A high spririted young lady with a undiscovered, raw talent and a powerful soul that would soon experience the ultimate life adventure. The youngest out of three daughters, Ashleigh Paige Hart was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on May 5, 1986. Ashleigh was a happy baby her parents would tell anyone who was willing to listen. Along with Ashleigh were her two older sisters, Wilhelmina and Kim.
While Wilhelmina and Ashleigh were the best of friends like most sisters are, they shared another bond and that was the ability to not get along with Kim. Ash and Wil were a little bit on the more beautiful side than their oldest sister and that in itself did not sit well with Kim. Wil was always there to come to Ash's defense when Kim would pick at her for being an optimistic girl. Time went on and the girls got older. Kim left for Africa, Wil became this jet setting beauty and travelled to tons of places but Ashleigh....Ash stayed behind in Baton Rouge working her fingers to the bone and trying to make her dreams come true to become someone in the entertainment industry.
Ashleigh knew that there was more and better than that out there waiting for her so she called up Wil one day asking for any kind of help she could give. The two talked for hours it seemed and by the time she hung up the phone, Ash knew that singing was her calling and was going to be somebody. Down the line, Wil eventually moved to Chicago and when Ashleigh found out she wanted to be right there with her big sister. So with only a hundred dollars left in her pocket after buying a bus ticket to Chicago, Ash was on her way.
Not knowing what she would do the following morning, she left her hotel room and pounded the pavement looking for a job. Everyplace she went into turned her down until a tired and hungry Ashleigh stopped inside Uno Pizzeria to rest and get a bite to eat before going back to job hunting. When right as she was leaving, she noticed a help wanted sign and inquired into the position then spoke to a manager. The manager seemed a little worried that someone with no restaurant experience like Ash would even ask for an interview but he did something none of the other managers would do and that was take a chance on Ash. Turned out to be one of the best decisions he ever made. Ash turned out to bring in more customers and they liked her a lot.
The dream that Ash had all these years ago still lives inside of her. Ash saves every dime that she makes in tips, putting it aside to maybe one day get to buy some studio time to record at least one of her songs to send out to record execs. Sometimes on break at the pizzeria, she sings in the middle of the restaurant for everyone. When she's not at work, you can find her with her guitar down at Navy Pier trying to make a couple of dollars there too. It may not be glamourous but she'll do what she has to to get her name out there and get known.
